Trek Introduces 2200 Series of High-Voltage 40 Watt Amplifiers
14 July 2010 (Medina, NY, USA) – TREK, INC., a designer and manufacturer of high-voltage power amplifiers and high-performance electrostatic instrumentation, introduced its 2200 Series of 40 Watt High Voltage Amplifiers. Trek’s 2200 Series offers a desirable combination of high performance and attractive pricing. The three initial models of the 2200 Series – Model 2205, 2210 and 2220 – provide output voltage ranges of ±500 V, ±1 kV, ±2 kV (respectively). The 40 Watt reference equates to 40 watts peak, 20 watts RMS.
Trek developed this new series with proprietary technology – leveraging the company’s more than 40 years of amplifier design expertise – to address the market need for cost-effective units which deliver reliable, robust performance.
The 2200 Series delivers additional value since the units are CE marked, RoHS compliant, and HALT tested. The company is also providing a 2 year warranty on these units, doubling the typical 1 year warranty offered by other suppliers.

Similar to other Trek amplifier models, the models in the 2200 series incorporate high performance features such as DC stability and wide bandwidth, well regulated and controlled AC output signals, full four-quadrant class AB all-solid-state output stages, DC offset adjustment with front panel metering, and auto-recovery shutdown for output-overpowering protection. The output stage sinks or sources current into reactive or resistive loads throughout the output voltage range. This is critical to attain the accurate output response and high slew rates as demanded by reactive loads.
